Man Shot in Tiverton Drive-by

A drive-by shooting at Benjamin's Sports Pub on Saturday night left one man in the hospital with a gunshot wound to his back, according to Tiverton Police. A bullet after someone driving past the bar fired two shots into the building at about 11:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Man Paralyzed By Police Gunfire Dies 4 Years Later

A North Kingstown man who was left paralyzed following a confrontation with North Kingstown police in 2009 died last week at Rhode Island Hospital.

Federal Hill Restaurant Moving to Cranston

After 32 years on Federal Hill in Providence, Potenza Ristorante-Bar this week will be calling Cranston home.

On April 11, the restaurant will open its doors to its new home at 162 Mayfield Ave., the former home of The Sunflower Cafe.

Newport Police Bring Down Gunman

Newport police confirmed a man was arrested at gunpoint on Tuesday afternoon after a witness reported he was waving around a gun in the Park Holm neighborhood.

Coventry Approves $300K Loan to Fire District

Dozens of Coventry residents gathered in Town Council Chambers at Town Hall Tuesday night for an emergency Special Meeting to bear witness to a discussion by Council members regarding a suggested loan from the Town of Coventry to the Central Coventry Fire District.

Thursday, April 11

A man's life was saved Wednesday by the quick actions of State Police and two Rhode Island residents. Around 3:30 p.m., police said they received several 911 calls that a man was pushing a bicycle on the Newport Pell Bridge.

Reports of Shots Fired at Police False

Initial reports that Woonsocket police officers and firefighters were under fire this morning turned out to be false, the Woonsocket Police Department announced. Gunfire the officers heard turned out to be a suicide victim's final act.

Friday, April 12

Quonset Air Show Cancelled

The 2013 Rhode Island Air National Guard Open House and Air Show has been canceled following federal budget cuts. The Guard decided to nix this year's show after the U.S. Navy canceled the remainder of the Blue Angel's 2013 season due to the cuts – also known as the sequester.
