Thursday: Rubber Duck Race and Rhythms on the Beach

A look at what's happening in and around Middletown today.

1. The Middletown Education Collaborative is holding its at Third Beach. Up to 1,000 rubber ducks will race to fund educational programs for Middletown public school students.

2. Norman Bird Sanctary is hosting Sunset Rhythmns on the Beach for the entire family, an evening around a campfire singing songs, drumming, and roasting marshmallows. Free if you bring your own instrument!

3. The I is taking place at Aquidneck Grange Hall with local farmers and crafters.

4. Fundraiser is being held at the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

5. newportFILM Outdoors is screening in King Park.

So I know this is published early in the morning, but "rythmns" - really? Does spell check not work before 6AM. I'm sorry to say it, but it's disappointing to see the decline in quality on the Patch site in recent months.
