A look at what's happening in and around Middletown for Oct. 6, 2011.

  1. The Aquidneck Land Trust presents “Green Eating” at 5:30 p.m. at Sweet Berry Farm. Get the low-down from local chefs on eating in environmentally friendly ways.
  2. Did you miss last night’s chance to weigh in on the proposed new bridge toll for the Mount Hope Bridge? There’s another forum tonight in Portsmouth to let the RIBTA folks hear what you have to say.
  3. What’s better than pajamas and story time? How about joining the Middletown Public Library at 11 a.m. to break a reading record during  “Llama Llama Red Pajama?”
  4. Looking for flu shots clinics? Students, staff, faculty, parents and siblings of the Gaudet, Aquidneck and Forest Avenue Schools are invited to get flu vaccinations at a clinic to be held at the Gaudet Middle School from 4 to 7 p.m. on Oct. 11.
  5. On this date in 1866, the first train robbery occurred in the United States. The Reno gang made off with more than $10,000 in Jackson County, Indiana.
