Today: 'Roundabout' Discussions at Town Council Meeting, Tom Sawyer Auditions

A look at what's happening in Middletown on Monday, June 27.

  1.  The Newport Children's Theatre is holding open auditions for an adapted outdoor production of "Tom Sawyer" based on the classic story by Mark Twain, to be performed at the Norman Bird Sanctary, August 11 to 14. Young actors ages 8 and up are invited to audition.  
  2. The Middletown Town Council meets tonight at 5 p.m. for a special meeting with school department officials to discuss budget adjustments for the current 2011 fiscal year and to also discuss proposed roundabouts for the Two-Mile Corner junction. See the agenda at right, along with a copy of the recent presentation from the Rhode Island Department of Transportation.
  3. The Middletown Committee for the Arts meets tonight at 5:45 p.m. See the agenda at right.
