Today: Garbage Pickup on Holiday Schedule

Here are five good things to know today, Monday, May 30.

As the long holiday weekend wraps up on this Memorial Day, here are five things to note helping to shape our community:

  1. Today is the last day to RSVP for the Aquidneck Island Planning Commission’s "Celebrations of the People and Places of Aquidneck Island," happening June 1 at the Atlantic Beach Club. The evening will include jazz, awards and more.
  2. Bring that garbage back in from the curb. The town’s garbage and recycling services are on a holiday schedule this week.
  3. The Island Moving Company is seeking host families for visiting dancers in  July.
  4. Want to help clean up the environment in Middletown and beyond? Volunteer clean-ups are now easily found statewide on www.KeepRIClean.org, a clearinghouse for neighborhood, park, river and coastal clean ups throughout Rhode Island, initiated by Save The Bay.
  5. Get in a matinee while you can before heading back to work tomorrow.
