For 45 years, Michael Johnson, singer, songwriter, storyteller, and guitarist, has delighted audiences around the world. Even those who don’t know his name will recognize his hits: "Bluer Than Blue," "Give Me Wings," "Ponies," "Rooty Toot Toot for the Moon," "This Night Won't Last Forever," and many other landmark songs. Johnson has toured internationally and recorded eighteen albums, including ten hit singles and two No. 1 country songs of the year.

Johnson is a soloist at heart, and prefers the intimacy and spontaneity of solo performance, especially in a concert hall like Sandywoods Center for the Arts, where great natural acoustics and closeness to the audience allow Michael Johnson the showman to shine. "I love to talk to people and I love to make them laugh. And of course, I love to move them with my music. Without that, there is no reason to be on stage."

Johnson's music shows a diversity, depth, and heart that only comes from years of dedication to a labor of love. After a Michael Johnson concert, what one remembers of the performance is the texture of Johnson's voice, his unique and distinctive guitar playing, the meaning of the lyrics, and the feeling of being at home with a friend.
