Civil War Medical and Sanitary Conundrums

Join Gerry Burgess of Rhode Island's Battery B 1st Light Artillery Inc., a historic chartered militia modeled on the Union Light Artillery Battery of the Civil War, as she appears in full period costume to portray a member of the Providence Ladies Relief Society.  Ms. Burgess will be accompanied by a Union soldier to share photos and artifacts, and discuss the efforts of the Ladies Relief Society and the United States Sanitary Commission in caring for our soldiers during the Civil War.
