As part of its Teen Summer Reading program, Middletown Public Library will host Darren Yong's "Spark a Reaction" performance for teens ages 13 and up. Magic is one of the oldest art forms in history. Most people think of magic as just pulling coins out of ears or rabbits out of hats, but in today's society, magic has evolved into something much more modern. It not only amazes and astonishes the hardest skeptic, it can create reactions that touch and connect with others. Magic is a great social ice breaker. With Darren's down to earth, laid back style of magic and personality, he will show you what a great tool magic can be. Registration is required. For more details, please call Christa Albrecht-Vegas at 401-846-1573.
*The "Spark a Reaction" teen summer library program is sponsored by the Office of Library and Information Services of the state of Rhode Island, with funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the Pawtucket Red Sox, Citizens Bank, and Pepsi. Local support comes from Rhode Island Children's and Young Adult Librarians and the Friends of the Middletown Library.
