Pop Warner Islanders Post Six Wins at Home
Middletown/Newport Islanders Pop Warner Football.
The Islanders hosted the Dighton Rehoboth Falcons and Portsmouth Patriots this past Saturday at Gaudet Field in week 4 of the RISMA Pop Warner Football Conference.

Islanders 6 Portsmouth 30
The lone score for the Islanders was tallied by quarterback Donovan Wright on a bootleg in the second half of the game from 20 yards out. Trailing 24 to 0 at halftime to Portsmouth who scored four times in the first half due to Middletown turnovers and miscues. In the second half the offense came alive with a strong effort much in part to the play of Wright. Defense was powerful in the second half with a leading effort Jacoby Moore along with support from Adam Hamel, Ryan McCormack, Trevor and Tylor Coates.

Islanders 24 DR Falcons 0
Shane Mabberley, Antonio Boyd and Timothy Robinson each scored their first touchdowns of the season on Saturday as Kyler Kilcrease, Bryan Phillips, Cameron Williams, Jaymin Massey, Luke Millen and Ethan Welch consistently opened holes for the backs all day. On the defensive side of the ball Ryker Peckham and Matthew Dimen clogged holes in the middle while Kaden Kluth, Nick Kleinknecht and Jordan Neves ensured nothing got around the corners to preserve the 24-0 shutout.

Mitey Mites
Islanders 44 DR Falcons 13
This was a strong showing for Middletown on their home turf. Ingram Spears scored four times on the
day, including two kick returns for touchdowns. Kalil Jones, Mike Silvia, and Matthew Fraticelli-Crook also scored
for the Islanders. Ryan Vonvillas , Caleb Williams, Brady Turano, Colby Gray, and Jalen Anderson all played a great game.
Jr. Peewees
Islanders 31 (3-0-1 RISMA) DR 0
Devin Russ ran for three touchdowns, Mason Gilman added a touchdown and Konner Kluth ran for an extra point score. Anthony Boyd ran for one to cap off the scoring. The defense was lead by the outstanding play of Justin Paiva. Max Sisson, Jackson Carey, Ken Carey, Jean Phillipe Fifer, Deonte Wray, Xander Nunes, and John Lovendale all played well in contributing to the win.
Peewees
Islanders 20 (2-2 RISMA) DR 12
Kenny Jenkins and Jerrel Antone had a good all around game. Both of the offensive lines played real well. Kennenth Whaley, James Paiva, and Antone scored touchdowns for the Islanders.
Jr. Midgets
Islanders 14 (3-0-1 RISMA) DR 6
Great overall team performance by the islanders against the eagles from Dighton. Touchdowns scored by Kyle Donovan and Jarrett Collins with extra points scored by Jon Romero and Dan Ennis. Great line play by Evan Luther and Ben Brower. Great defensive performances by Kam Ayala and Robert McBride
Midgets
The Midgets played against the East Providence Jr. Townies on Sunday at Pierce Field.
Islanders 32 (3-0-1 RISMA) EP Jr. Townies 6
Middletown got things going in the second quarter with big runs of 40yds from Jayvon Davis and touchdown catches from Jimmy Steele followed by a 25 yd pass to Luis Miranda which ended the half 14-0. The second half with Isaac Garcia of runs of 72 yd touchdown run on kick offs and touched runs from Jaquan Ramsey. Filling in to the center position was James Cunningham who has never played center but stepping up due to injuries
