Middletown Police Collecting Toys for Needy Children

Residents can drop off toys through Dec. 18

The Middletown Police Department is collecting unwrapped toys for needy children across Rhode Island.

Law enforcement officers throughout Rhode Island are working with Crossroads Rhode Island to fulfill the wishes of children, who may otherwise be forgotten this holiday season. The goal of this event is to provide a positive Christmas experience and to show children that police officers are their friends and are in the community to help them.

The Rhode Island State Police and Rhode Island Police Chiefs' Association will kick off the Kids, Cops & Christmas Program on Wednesday, Dec.18,  at 3 p.m. in the State Room of the State House.
