Local Voice: Sponsor a "Sit-In" for the First Preventive Breast Cancer Vaccine

Breast Cancer month campaign urges "Sit-in" for Prevention.

This October, Stage a 'Sit-In' for the Pink Vaccine.  From Wikipedia: A sit-in is a form of direct action that involves one or more people nonviolently occupying an area for a protest, often to promote political, social, or economic change.

This October, we’re asking you to stage a sit-in for the Pink Vaccine, the world’s first preventive breast cancer vaccine developed at the Cleveland Clinic by Professor Vincent Tuohy.

We, Champions for the Pink Vaccine, propose a sit-in, a form of direct action involving small (or large you decide) groups of women who will sign up people for a team to meet in October to discuss the vaccine and/or watch Dr. Tuohy’s video:

You can meet in person or virtually on the internet or skype. Then collect donations from the group and deposit it in the vaccine fund.

100% of your donation will be sent directly to Tuohy’s lab to support testing his vaccine for safety in women if donated to The Cleveland Clinic.

You read that correctly: 100% – all the money goes into the pot to see if the world’s first preventive breast cancer vaccine is safe for use in women. If it is safe and only if it is safe it will be tested for efficacy (to see if it works in women, that is.)

Youth has an expiration date. Those of us who grew up in the 1960’s, when sit-ins were a popular form of protest against injustice of every stripe, have seen our youth come and go. But hope has no expiration date, so please join us in our Global Sit-In for the Pink Vaccine. You’ll be glad you did.

When you deposit your team proceeds in this fund, please use your team name in the donor box. We’d like to be able to trace where the money originated. Please use your state initials as part of your name. If you are a college group, please include your college and dorm. Thanks!

Thank you and God bless,

Champions for the Pink Vaccine,
