Monday: Santa Claus is Coming to Town and Holiday Open House

A look at what's happening in and around Middletown today.

  1. Santa Claus is coming to town via the Middletown Fire Department starting tonight. He’ll be visiting different neighborhoods throughout town over nine nights through Dec. 15 (inclement weather may shift schedule). To find out when he’s coming to your neighborhood, go to www.middletownri.com.
  2. is holding a tonight from 5 to 7 p.m. In addition to refreshments and cheer, they will be having special products available for sale, discounts on salon products, and a raffle to benefit the and .
  3. will hold a flu and pneumonia from 10 to 11 a.m. at their Chapel Street location. Most private insurances are accepted, and the price for those paying on their own is $35 for flu shots and $67 for pneumonia shots. Cash, check, and credit cards will be accepted.
  4. Beginning this week, will be open on Mondays and Thursdays from 10 to 11:30 a.m. for Open Gym for children up to 5 years old. Children need to be accompanied by an adult, and there must be one adult for every three children. Admission is $5 per family per day and multi-day punch cards are available.
  5. The will host a tonight at 7 p.m. Bead for Life is an organization that helps Ugandan women bring their family out of poverty through making jewelry. There will be three short films shown from 7 to 8 p.m. followed by a discussion and an “Empowering Women” activity from 8 to 8:30 p.m. This free event will also feature the sale of Bead for Life beads, raffles, and a free gift for all attendees.
