Obituary: Bernard Keith Lauder, Navy Veteran

Bernard Keith Lauder of Middletown, died June 9, 2014 at home. 

He was reunited with his beloved wife Barbara J. (Nickerson) Lauder who preceded him in death on August 21, 2006.

He was born October 4, 1930 in Jefferson County, Iowa to Clarence and Dorothy Macy Lauder.

Mr. Lauder served in the Navy for 21 years retiring in 1968 as a Chief Hospital Corpsman. He went on to work for Newport Hospital for 14 years, General Motors for 8 years and One Stop Building Supply for 20 years. He was a communicant of St. Lucy’s Church.

He is survived by a daughter Audrey Taylor of Portsmouth, his sons Kenneth Lauder of Middletown, Keith Lauder of Ellendale, ND, Donald R. Lauder and his wife Linda of Portsmouth and a daughter Karen Carruba of Portsmouth, as well as 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He also leaves his sisters Marjorie Roldan of Taylor MI and Helen Parsons of Corvellis, OR.

Besides his wife and parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Donald, Richard, infant twin brother and sister and his grandson Gerald (Chip) Marks.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 13, 2014 at 8:00am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00am in St. Lucy’s Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown.

Calling hours were Thursday evening from 4:00 to 7:00pm in the funeral home.

Burial will be private.
