Bites Nearby: Tito's Cantina Celebrates Flavors of 'Old Mexico'

Mexican food in Middletown since 1989.

In the summer of 1989 two friends, Rich Reavis and Vince Arcello, decided to open a Mexican restaurant in Middletown. They wanted to “bring the taste of old Mexico” to Aquidneck Island. At that time there was nothing else like it around.

is still in business and still going strong. Ironically enough Taco Bell is right next door. Their philosophy of “we make everything here like we eat it ourselves” has served them well. Since then, they have opened another location in Seekonk, MA.

Tito’s serves everything you would expect; Nachos, enchiladas, burritos, quesadillas, chimichangas, fajitas and tacos plus hamburgers, seafood and more. They have a margarita and Tequila bar, (they serve only the best Tequilas made from 100% blue Agave) house made sangria and Mexican beer, plus a line of specialty soda to quench your thirst.

Tito’s chips, salsa (mild, medium and hot), and peppers plus the above mentioned sodas are sold at their two locations. Tito’s signature dessert is fried ice cream. The ice cream is dipped in crushed corn flakes and then deep fried giving it a nice crunch.

Tito’s caters and offers lunch time deliveries. It's located at 651 W Main Rd, Middletown, RI 02842. The phone is 401-849-4222.
