Baby in 'Serious' Condition After Locked in Car for 2 Hours

A 6-month-old baby is considered in serious condition after it was in a parked car for at least two hours on Friday

A 6-month-old baby was rushed to Hasbro Children's Hospital Friday after it was locked in a parked car in Newport for at least two hours, according to officials. The baby was initially treated at Newport Hospital.

Officials said the car, parked at 156 Park Holm, had an internal temperature of 120 degrees. The baby's body temperature was more than 105 degrees.

The father said he forgot the baby was in the car. The baby's condition is considered "serious." No charges have been filed.
