Man Allegedly Assaults Hotel Security Guard

The following arrests were reported by the Middletown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Stephen Durocher, 33, of 336 Waterman Ave., Smithfield, was arrested on Saturday around 4:11 a.m. on charges of simple assault. When a hotel security guard repordely told him to quiet down, he allegedly became enraged and said he was making the rules. He then punched the security officer, tore his shirt and jumped on the hotel guard, said police. Durocher then allegedly ran off. 

Two hours later, Portsmouth Police notified the Middletown Police Department that they had found Durocher at the Mobil Sation on West Main Road in Portsmouth. 

Other Recent Arrests in Middletown:

  • Ryan Walker, 40, of 11 Porter Road, was arrested on Tuesday around 1:34 a.m. on charges of driving under the influence. Police said he registered a .168 and .154 BAC.
  • Deacon Robert, 69, of 2 Admiralty Dr. Apt 3, was arrested on Monday around 10:43 p.m. on charges of domestic assault.  
  • Steven Suggs, 33, of 167 Home Ave., Providence, was arrested on Saturday around 12:00 a.m. on a felony drug possession, weapons other than firearms and driving with a suspended license.  Police pulled over Suggs because his driver side brake light and registration plate lights did not work.  A search turned up his license was suspended for failure to pay.  Police said they found a folding knife in his pocket and amphetamine pills in his car. 
  • Glenn Seger, 45, of 189 Main Street, Warren, was arrested on charges of driving with a suspended license and a bench warrant. Police pulled him over for speeding on East Main Road.
