Man Arrested After Confronted by Husband Over Affair

The following arrest was reported by the Middletown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Justin Vecoli, 27, of 2 Sandy Lane, Bristol, was arrested on Monday morning around 1:30 after police responded to Woodhookers Bar on East Main Road to investigate a group of people who were screaming outside.

Vecoli allegedly has been having an affair with a married woman and her husband showed up at the bar to confront Vecoli.

Police said they wanted to check on the wife because a witness overheard the husband say he was going to “beat her ass” when they got home.  Vecoli allegedly refused to tell police the names of the couple, became belligerent and swore at the officers.

The wife was allegedly texting Vecoli throughout the questioning, but he refused to give police his password, said police.  He was placed under arrest and charged with obstructing an officer in execution of duty and disorderly conduct.

Police eventually found the name of the couple and after an hour search, was able to locate the wife and ensured she was safe.
