Middletown Arrests: DUI, Warrants

The following arrests were reported by the Middletown Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

Shannon Grindrod, 32, of 66 Dover Ave., East Providence was arrested on Sunday, July 29 at 2:46 a.m. on charges of driving under the influence.  Police said they stopped Grindrod because she was swerving and driving 42 mph in a 25 mph zone.  Police reported a smell of alcohol, slurred speech and bloodshot eyes.  After Grindrod allegedly failed the field sobriety tests, she was brought into custody without incident.  Grindrod was also cited for refusal to submit to chemical test, speeding and landed roadway violations.

Antonio Dasilva, 22, of 114 Waterman Ave., was arrested on Sunday, June 29 on an active bench warrant charge and driving after denial.

James Ray, 43, of an unspecified address in Newport was arrested on Saturday, July 28 for an active bench warrant after police responded to a complaint that a suspicious person was ringing doorbells in the area.  Ray said he was ringing the doorbell of the house he believed to be occupied by his wife’s friend. The female party who lived at the house said he was not welcome at her house, said police.  A routine check revealed he had an active bench warrant.
