Middletown Man Arrested for Child Abuse and Domestic Assault

The following arrest was reported by the Middletown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Mahmoud Abdallah, 77, of 107 Lexington St was arrested yesterday evening around 10:30 p.m. on a domestic assault and a second degree felony child abuse charge.

Police said a 48 year-old Middletown woman went into the last night around 9:35 p.m. to report that her 16 year-old daughter had been missing since the day before.  The Middletown Police called the teenager and told her to come to the station to meet with her mother, said police.

At the station, the teen said there was an altercation at their home on Sunday that involved her mother, brother and father, said police.  She told police her father, Mahmoud Abdallah, assaulted both her and her mother.  She left the residence and told her mother that she was scared of her father and was going to stay at a friend’s house, said police.

According to the police report, her father came into the room and struck the girl in the face.  Abdallah then allegedly threw a heavy napkin holder at her mother. Police said the teen reported her father is abusive and constantly hits her, her mother and her brother.

Her mother reportedly told police Abdallah “has a problem”  and hits her and her children.
