Middletown Man Charged with Domestic Assault, Marijuana Possession

The Middletown Police Department reported the following recent arrests.

Domestic Assault, Marijuana Charges Filed Against Middletown Man

arrested Robert Ferguson, 45, of 1 Ludlow Road, Apt. #A, Middletown, on misdemeanor charges of domestic assault and battery and marijuana possession around 7:09 p.m Wednesday night.

According to the arrest report, Middletown police were called to his address for a domestic disturbance in progress and, while en route, police intercepted Ferguson in his pickup truck on Woolsey Road after he left the residence. Witnesses at the scene alleged that an argument had broken out over chores involving children and that when a female adult attempted to intervene, Ferguson allegedly shoved her into the refrigerator. Police also allege they recovered a metal smoking pipe with marijuana in it while searching him and another bag of marijuana from his home.

 Newport Man Charged with DUI

The Middletown Police Department arrested Wilfredo J. Santos, 26, of 16 Beech Tree St., Newport, around 1:42 a.m. Thursday on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol, a misdemeanor first offense. According to the arrest report, police stopped the car he was driving near 729 West Main Road after observing a broken tail light. After questioning and conducting a field sobriety test, Santos took a preliminary blood-alcohol concentration (BAC) breath test that allegedly registered a .119. Later at the police station during processing, police also charged Santos with refusing to submit to a chemical test to further measure his BAC level. Santos was also cited for the brake light infraction, according to the police report.

 Newport Woman Charged with Writing Bad Checks

Kristen M. Dubois, 30, of 216 Maple Ave., Apt. #2, Newport, was arrested Wednesday around 6:44 p.m. for allegedly writing $100.29 worth of checks on a closed bank account to the , according to the arrest record. Police filed charges on four misdemeanor counts for checks witten in the amounts of $16.55, $10.70, $41.73 and $46.31. A Middletown Police Department detective had determined that the checking account had been closed for some time, the arrest report stated.
