Middletown Police Log: 6 Arrests During Weekend

The following information is based on Middletown Police Department arrest reports and does not indicate any convictions.

Fast Food Purse Thief Arrested

George Britter, 45, of 4 Farewell St., Newport, was arrested Sunday afternoon, Nov. 13, on a larceny misdemeanor stemming from a Nov. 6 incident at Kentucky Fried Chicken, on West Main Road. According to the police report, a woman reported that her purse was stolen on Nov. 6, after she left it in the restaurant. Police checked the restaurant surveillance video and were able to identify and eventually apprehend Britter, who confessed to the crime; his bail was set at $1,000.

Erik Robinson, 41, of 25 Harbor Village Dr., Middletown, was arrested at approximately 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, on a disorderly conduct charge. According to the police report, Robinson called police at about 1:45 a.m. to report that he had been assaulted, and when police arrived at the scene, Easton’s Point Restaurant, on Aquidneck Ave., they found Robinson standing outside appearing extremely intoxicated. After talking to Robinson and also a restaurant employee and a witness, police determined that Robinson was the one who had assaulted someone, not the reverse. Robinson began shouting obscenities when police explained the situation, and eventually threw himself over the trunk of his car, at which point officers placed him in handcuffs and transported him to the police station where he was charged with disorderly conduct.

Jeffrey Freeman, 42, of 7 Ludlow Rd., Middletown, was arrested at approximately 1:45 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, on a domestic assault and battery charge. According to the police report, Freeman assaulted a 43-year-old Middletown resident with whom he had been in a relationship for two years, pushing the other party onto a kitchen table and attempting to choke the person. A flower pot was shattered in the fracas, Freeman gave another party a bloody lip, and Freeman was punched in the eye in self-defense.

911 Calls Interrupted by Domestic Assault

Jerry Warnick, 47, of 43 Phelps Rd., Middletown, was arrested at approximately 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, on a domestic assault charge. According to the report, police were called to the scene after dispatch had received two 911 calls that were disconnected. Police found that Warnick had been engaged in a verbal argument with a 43-year-old Middletown resident, during which time he threw the party into a wood and glass coffee table, then tried to stop the party twice from calling 911. Warnick was processed without incident.

Bench Warrant Discovered During Argument

Rosa Kuiee, 46, of 43 Phelps Rd., Middletown, was arrested at approximately 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, on a bench warrant for violation of probation. The bench warrant was discovered when police ran a routine check of Kuiee during an investigation of a domestic argument. Kuiee was processed without incident.

Erratic Driving Leads to Bench Warrant Arrest

Leah Alexander, 27, of 28 Lauren Dr., in Portsmouth, was arrested at approximately 3:15 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 12, for a bench warrant, discovered when a police officer ran a routine check after pulling her over on West Main Road for driving between lanes. She was processed without incident.
