Middletown Police Log: DUI Arrest for Driver Who Allegedly Avoided Red Light

Daniel J. Harkin, 25, of 52 Viking Dr., Portsmouth, was arrested at approximately 11:30 p.m., Wed., Feb. 1, for driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license. According to the police report, an officer observed Harkin’s car avoid a red light on East Main Road by driving through a gas station parking lot. The officer reportedly noticed the smell of alcohol when speaking to Harkin, after stopping him for the traffic violation. Harkin allegedly could not complete a field sobriety test, and was taken to the , where a chemical test reportedly found he had a blood alcohol content of .205.

Two sisters arrested for assault

Justine Christine Labonte, 19, and Alyssa K. Labonte, 21, both of 5 Vierra Ter., Middletown, were arrested at approximately 2:30 a.m., Wed., Feb. 1, for assault. According to the police report, the sisters allegedly assaulted a 29-year-old Middletown woman during a fight at a Middletown hotel.

Two cousins arrested, one for assault, one for no-contact order

Joseph A. Chaves, 53, of 25 Spanker St., Jamestown, was arrested at 5 p.m., Tues., Jan. 31, for assault. According to the police report, Chaves allegedly assaulted his cousin, Stephen Mitchell, during an argument about a family member.

Stephen Michael Mitchell, 50, of 447 Turner Rd., Middletown, was arrested at 5 p.m., Tues., Jan. 31, for violating a no-contact order. According to the police report, officers responded to a call from Mitchell regarding an assault, and a routine check of Mitchell reportedly revealed the no-contact order.

• Lynn Lewis Diaz, 41, of 2554 Peterboro Ct., West Bloomfield, MI, was arrested at approximately 2 a.m., Thurs., Feb. 2, based on a warrant from the Tiverton Police Department.
• Richard Edward Hart, 57, of 170 Prospect Ave., Middletown, was arrested at approximately 1:30 p.m., Tues., Jan. 31, for violating a no-contact order and trespassing on a Middletown property.
