Middletown Police Log: Marijuana, Drunk Driving, Vandalism and Assault

Vandalism

Sharon Anne Dwyer, 62, of 47 Wyndham Hill Road, Middletown, was arrested around 1:45 p.m. Thursday on a misdemeanor charge of vandalism.

According to the arrest report, Dwyer allegedly “keyed” a car belonging to another woman in the BJ’s Wholesale Club parking lot.The incident occurred after one woman opened her car door and it bumped the car next to hers, resulting in no damage to either car but sparking a brief verbal exchange between the two women, according to the arrest report.

A third party witness told police she saw Dwyer key the victim’s car after the other woman went into the store. Dwyer later confessed the act to police, according to the arrest report.

Assault

Michael A. Reynolds, 24, of 21 Seascape Ave., Middletown, was arrested on misdemeanor charges of simple assault and resisting arrest around 10:44 p.m. Tuesday night.

According to the arrest report, police responded to Vierra Terrace for a report of a male choking a female. After arriving, the female victim showed police the direction the suspect had fled. Police located the suspect in the area after seeing him hop a fence. They ordered him to stop but he allegedly refused. Police reported they had to physically take Reynolds down to the ground in a rear yard, that he was extremely intoxicated and he refused to comply as two police officers arrested him.

Marijuana, Controlled Substances Charges

Kyle E. Cabral, 22, of 526 Grinnell St., Fall River, MA, was arrested around 3:33 a.m. Friday morning on a misdemeanor charge of marijuana possession and on a felony charge of possession of a classified controlled substance.

According to the arrest report, police stopped his car on Purgatory Road near Wolcott Avenue after observing his car cross the roadway lanes. Police at the scene detected the smell of marijuana and Cabral allegedly told police he had smoked pot earlier. A search of the car allegedly turned up a wood pipe used for smoking pot, a grinder, a joint, and controlled substances that included Clonazepam and Suboxone pills. Cabral was unable to provide police with proof of prescriptions at the scene. A BB gun was also seized.

DUI Charges

Alexander Espinoza, 32, of 7 Rosa Road, Middletown, was arrested around 9:54 p.m. Wednesday night on a misdemeanor first offense charge of driving under the influence of alcohol. According to the arrest report, police stopped his car on West Main Road near Woolsey Lane after observing his car allegedly swerve into the adjacent lane and nearly strike other cars. During questioning, Espinoza told police that he had 1½ glasses of wine and had taken several prescription drugs earlier. A field sobriety test was conducted at the scene. Chemical tests to measure his blood-alcohol concentration (BAC) levels registered .182, .151, and .161. He was also cited for several motor vehicle infractions for driving into the other lanes of travel.

Troy Davis, 35, of 139 Fenner Ave., Middletown, was arrested around 2:01 a.m. Thursday on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol, a misdemeanor first offense. According to the arrest report, police stopped his car on West Main Road near the Boulevard after observing his car's wheels cross into the adjacent travel lane. During questioning, police detected the smell of alcohol. A field sobriety test was conducted at the scene. He was also cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test to measure his BAC.
