Middletown Police Log: Tiverton Woman Arrested for Assault, Disorderly Conduct

The following information is based on Middletown Police Department arrest reports and do not indicate any convictions.

Susan Vanallen, 50, of 23 Main Road, Tiverton, was arrested around 9:11 p.m. Tuesday night on two misdemeanor charges of simple assault or battery and disorderly conduct.

According to the arrest report, police officers were called to Tuesday night for a report of an unwanted party. The bartender informed police that Vanallen's keys had been taken away because she had been heavily drinking and she had become disruptive.

As police questioned Vanallen outside and escorted her back into the bar to use an ATM to withdraw cash for a cab ride home, she continuously directed profanities at the police officers, called them "fascists" and allegedly attempted to strike one police officer before she was arrested for disorderly conduct.
