Middletown Police Log: Vandalism, Drunk Driving

Vandalism
Mark A. Ekstrom, 52, of 3 Maloney Lane, Middletown, was arrested around 6:12 p.m. Friday night on a misdemeanor vandalism charge. According to the arrest report, police responded to his residence to serve an arrest warrant issued for a vandalism charge relating to an undisclosed incident. He was processed, released and ordered to appear for an arraignment on July 15.
Drunk Driving

Kurt A. Stovall, 24, of 98 ½ Warner St., Newport, was arrested around 11:55 p.m. Sunday night on a misdemeanor second offense charge of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol with a BAC of .15 or greater. According to the arrest report, police were called to the parking lot of Aquidneck Pizza to check on the condition of a man who had just parked his car and entered the restaurant. Witnesses in the area told police they observed the car he was driving hit a curb and turn around on the wrong side of the road. A field sobriety test was conducted at the scene and a chemical test conducted at the police station to measure blood-alcohol concentration allegedly registered .156, .152 and .161.
Caitlin R. Neville, 21, of 2060 Main Road, Tiverton, was arrested on a misdemeanor first offense charge of driving under the influence of alcohol around 3:30 a.m. early Monday morning. According to the arrest report, police stopped her car on Aquidneck Road near Valley Road after observing the car cross over the marked lanes. A field sobriety test was conducted at the scene and a chemical test conducted at the police station to measure blood-alcohol concentration allegedly registered .140 and .136.

Arrest Warrants
Richard Allen Walsh, 27, of 9B Woolsey Road, Middletown, was picked up on an outstanding misdemeanor arrest warrant issued from the Second District Court around 12:58 p.m. on July 7. According to the police report, a patrol officer recognized him as he was walking near the intersection of Ludlow and Woolsey Roads.
Travis J. Tate, 30, of 17 Burnside Apt. #2, Newport, was picked up on an outstanding arrest warrant issued from the Second District Court around 11:40 a.m. Friday night. According to the police report, a patrol officer stopped his car at the intersection of Lawrence Street and Constitution Avenue after observing the car travelling at 40 mph in a posted 25 mph zone and having an object dangling from the rearview mirror causing an obstructed view. A routine background check showed the outstanding arrest warrant for his alleged failure to appear at court and pay court costs.
Middletown police arrested Miguel Angel Soto, 26, of 310 Old Mill Lane, Apt 1, Portsmouth, around 10:19 p.m. Friday night on misdemeanor charges of driving without a license and on an outstanding arrest warrant issued from the Second District Court in Newport. According to the arrest report, police stopped his car on Wyatt Road near the soccer fields after a routine check of his plates turned up a suspended registration and he was later found to have no driver’s license and the outstanding warrant.
