Middletown Police Make Eight Arrests This Weekend

The following arrests were reported by the Middletown Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

 

Matthew Bruce, 27, of 345 Coffin Ave, New Bedford, was arrested on Saturday, July 15, around 5:18 p.m. on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.  Police said Matthew was extremely intoxicated outside of the Atlantic Beach Club, cursed at officers and ran off towards Purgatory Road.  

According to the reports, Bruce ran in front of a Jeep Wrangler that was leaving the Atlantic Beach Club parking lot and bounced off the hood.  Bruce allegedly got up and tried to run across the road.   Police said they chased him down, brought him to the ground and brought him into custody.

David McAllister, 54, of 95 Holman St., Portsmouth, was arrested after he was allegedly involved in a hit and run accident on East Main Road outside the entrance to Aquidneck Shopping Center.  He reportedly rear-ended a vehicle, but told police he did not think there was enough damage to call police or stop his vehicle.  

McAllister was arrested for duty to stop and driving with a suspended license.

Miguel Collazo, 34, of 11421 Judge Ave., Orlando, Fla., was arrested on Saturday, July 15, on disorderly conduct charges after he allegedly created a disturbance at the Wendy’s drive through lane.

A 17 year-old girl from Newport was arrested on Sunday, July 15 around 3:09 p.m. at St. George’s School on a runaway violation after police responded to a disturbance in progress.

Devon Gomes, 18, of 3 Prescott Pl., Newport, was arrested on Sunday, July 15, around 3:51 p.m. on charges of disorderly conduct at St. George’s School. 

Koraima Espinet, 19, of 104 Rogers Ln. was arrested on Sunday, July 15 around 11:20 p.m.was for domestic violation of a no contact order after police recognized her walking by Middletown Square.

Amanda Walker, 21, of 124 Rogers Ln., was arrested on Sunday, July 15 around 11:20 p.m. on charges of disorderly conduct.  

Randy Acorn, of 114 High Street, Carver, Mass., was arrested on Friday, July 14 around 3:02 p.m. on a bench warrant charge for failure to appear.
