Middletown Police: One DUI Arrest This Week

The following arrest was reported by the Middletown Police Department. Arrests do not imply a conviction

Olivia Skutnik, of 64 Canonchet Dr., Portsmouth was arrested on Wednesday morning at approximately 1:05 a.m. on  charges of drinking and driving.  Police pulled over 20 year-old Skutnik after she passed a cruiser traveling 45 mph and squealed the tires.

Police reported when they stopped Skutnik, she reportedly was looking for documents when the car rolled.  Police said they yelled for her to put the car into park, and she allegedly abruptly applied the brakes and then attempted to start the car three times, even though it was aleady running.

When police asked her where she was coming from, she allegedly replied “I’m good thank you.”

Police reported when they asked her to tell them what time it was without looking at a clock, she allegedly looked at her car's clock and said “it’s too blurry to read, wait, about 1:00 obviously.”  When they asked her to do the finger touch test, she reportedly said she understood.  Police reported when they told her to begin, she stared at her hand and then handed police her license.

Skutnik failed the field sobriety tests and was taken into custody.
