Middletown Police Report Nine Weekend Arrests

Middletown police reported the following arrests over the weekend of Friday, March 11 to Sunday, March 13, 2011.

Middletown police reported the following weekend arrests:

  • Kenneth M. White, 26, of 122 Ocean View Ave., Swansea, was arrested Sunday around 1:50 a.m. on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, a misdemeanor first offense, and refusing to submit to a chemical test to measure his blood-alcohol concentration (BAC) level. The arrest resulted after a traffic stop on West Main Road near Squantum Drive.
  • Jason P. Derobbio, 29, of 42 Congregational Ave., Bristol, was arrested Saturday night around 5:24 p.m. and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, a misdemeanor first offense, and refusing to submit to a chemical test to measure his blood-alcohol concentration (BAC) level. The arrest resulted after police responded to a report of a car that had driven off the road near 951 Aquidneck Avenue.
  • Jacquelyn E. Briggs, 29, of 56 Seabreeze Drive, Apt. #A, South Dartmouth, MA, was arrested Saturday around 9 p.m. and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, a misdemeanor first offense, failure to stop after an accident, and refusing to submit to a chemical test to measure his blood-alcohol concentration (BAC) level. The arrest resulted after police responded to an alleged hit-and-run report and located the suspect’s vehicle near 833 West Main Road. No injuries were reported.
  • Nancy A. Michalski, 56, of 22 Mumford Ave., Newport, was arrested Sunday around 4:09 p.m. after she turned herself in at the Middletown Police Station for an outstanding court warrant issued by the Second District Court after she allegedly failed to appear for a pre-trial conference.
  • Carla N. Michalski, 28, of 22 Mumford Ave., Newport, was arrested Sunday around 4:09 p.m. after she allegedly became disruptive at the Middletown Police Station and was charged with obstructing a police officer in the line of duty. According to the arrest record, she was accompanying her mother Nancy A. Michalski to turn herself in on an outstanding court warrant when she became angry that her mother would be held overnight until her morning court appearance, tried to pull her mother outside the police station and allegedly refused to stop after ordered by police. She was processed and released, and ordered to appear at the Second District Court on March 25, 2011 to answer the misdemeanor charge.
  • A 17-year-old female Newport resident was arrested Saturday around 4:01 p.m. on a misdemeanor charge of vandalism after police responded to a complaint on West Main Road near the IHOP restaurant that she allegedly threw an object at a windshield of a passing truck. According to the arrest report, she was having an argument with her boyfriend and allegedly threw her cell phone at him, but missed and hit the truck. She was later released to the care of a guardian.
  • Rodney A. Ford, 26, of 1 ½ Willow St., Newport, was arrested on Saturday around 11:48 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after police responded to Big Dawg’s pub to a bartender’s complaint that he had allegedly become verbally abusive to her and customers. Police also allege he threatened police officers and struggled as they attempted to cuff him. According to the arrest report, a third police officer at the scene warned him three times before using a taser to subdue him. He was then examined, treated and sedated at Newport Hospital. After treated and released, he was held overnight at the Middletown Police Station until he became sober, police reported.
  • Ashley Pasyanos, 18, of 246 King Charles St., Portsmouth, and Savoy Kennedy, 19, of 26 Center Ave., Middletown were arrested Friday around 11 p.m. and charged with underage drinking and alcohol possession. The arrests occurred after police investigated an accident at 24 Concord Drive, where Savoy had allegedly made a wrong turn in the fog, drove into a driveway and struck a house porch. Both allegedly said they had been drinking earlier and agreed to take preliminary blood-alcohol breath tests, which measured .062 for Kennedy and .015 for Pasyanos. Both were issued summons to appear at Municipal Court on March 29, 2011.
