Middletown Police Report One Arrest for DUI, Two Arrests on Court Warrants

The Middletown Police Department reported three arrests over the weekend.

Swansea Woman Charged with Drunk Driving

Middletown police arrested Colby Lynn Cremins, 31, of 176 Bluff Ave., Swansea, on Sunday afternoon around 1:05 p.m. on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, a misdemeanor first offense. According to the arrest report, police stopped her car on Aquidneck Avenue near John Clark Road for allegedly traveling at 53 miles per hour in a posted 25-mph zone. During questioning, the officer at the scene detected the smell of alcohol, then performed a field sobriety test and preliminary blood-alcohol concentration (BAC) breath test before arresting her at the scene. The BAC level allegedly measured .178. Later at the police station, she was also cited for allegedly refusing to take a chemical test to further measure her BAC level. She was later arraigned by a Justice of the Peace.

Outstanding Arrest Warrants

  • Jose A. Gomez, 22, of 2 Kilburn Court, Newport, was arrested Saturday night around 11:54 p.m. on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license after police stopped the truck he was driving on Mitchell’s Lane after observing it straddle the yellow line. During questioning, a routine background check turned up an active arrest warrant issued by the Second District Court for allegedly failing to appear for a court date. He declined to be arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and was to be transferred to the Adult Correctional Institution (ACI) pending his Second District Court appearance.
  • Alisha M. Conklin, 27, of 90 Girard Ave., Apt. #68, Newport, was arrested Friday night around 11:04 p.m. on an arrest warrant issued from Family Court charging her with failure to appear. According to the arrest record, police stopped the car she was driving on West Main Road after police radar clocked her car allegedly speeding at 41 miles per hour in a posted 25-mph zone. Conklin was also cited for having a suspended vehicle registration.
