Middletown's Weekend Arrests: Domestic Vandalism, Drug Possession

The following information is based on Middletown Police Department reports. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Domestic Vandalism

Katie Bishop of 171 Rogers Lane, was arrested on Friday, March 23, at 9:54 p.m. on charges of domestic vandalism/malicious injury to property.

According to the , a 32 year-old Middletown man called police with a complaint that 23 year-old Bishop had just kicked in his front door and left the area. Bishop reportedly told officers she brought their daughter to his house and questioned the man about why he did not want to spend time with her or their daughter. She then allegedly kicked the door and broke the frame.

Bishop was brought into custody and a no contact order was issued.  

Possession of Drugs

Alicia Gardner, 16 W Evans Street, Newport, was arrested on Friday, March 23, at approximately 2:25 a.m. on a charge of felony possession of schedule I, II, III, IV, V. The 35-year-old was also charged with a first offense possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor.

Police reported they stopped Gardner near Coddington Highway after they clocked her traveling at 45 mph in the posted 30 mph zone. Gardner allegedly told police she had a few drinks.

Police asked if there were narcotics inside the vehicle, and Gardner allegedly said there was a container with pills on the passenger seat. Police reported that she admitted that "one or two" of the pills were Adderall and that she did not have a prescription. Police reported they also found a bud of marijuana and a pipe in the center console.

According to the police report, Gardner passed the sobriety tests.

Police determined that Gardner’s vehicle was under investigation by the Newport Police Department for a hit and run that had occurred earlier that day.  

Gardner was brought into custody by the Middletown Police Department. CVS Pharmacy identified the pills as Klonopin, Adderall, Ritalin, Vicodin, Dextroamphetamine and Ibuprofen.
