Cops Stop Bus To Arrest Runaway Teen

A 17-year-old Middletown teen was arrested on Monday morning after staff from a group home on East Main Road called police with a report that he ran away. Police they stopped a RIBTA bus because they believed he was on-board.

The teen allegedly told police he was having a panic attack because his girlfriend recently said she was pregnant but later confessed she was joking. 

Teen Arrested After Fight with Mother

A 17 year-old Middletown girl was arrested on Tuesday around 1:36 a.m. after she allegedly threw her mother to the ground.  The girl’s mother told police her daughter was not allowed to sleep in her own room because the neighborhood boys come to her window and convince her to sneak out.  Her mother said they got into a fight when the girl wanted to go back to her room, which is when her daughter allegedly pushed her to the ground.

Police arrested the girl and later returned her home because her parents did not have transportation, said police.   She was charged with simple assault.
