Officials Say Third Beach Safe for Swimming

The following information is from the Department of Health

HEALTH officials recommended re-opening Third Beach in Middletown for swimming. This comes after they closed the beach on Tuesday, July 31 after bacteria levels were considered unsafe.

The recommendation to re-open is based on results from water samples that show bacteria levels within acceptable limits.

HEALTH will continue to monitor the water quality regularly to assure safe bathing throughout the summer season. Water quality analysis is conducted by the HEALTH laboratory or a state certified laboratory.
