Parking Ban Starts 1 a.m. Thursday

With the threat of another winter storm on the horizon, the town isn't sitting around when it comes to storm preparations.

A parking ban has been instituted in Middletown, beginning at 1 a.m. and it will remain in effect until further notice. The ban is to make sure emergency vehicles and plows can access all roads as easily as possible.

The Public Works Department reminds residents that snow from driveways and walkways should not be dumped into the road because it creates hazardous driving conditions.

"As a reminder, business and home owners are responsible for clearing the sidewalks in front of their property. This will help keep pedestrians out of the road," a notice on the town's Web site states.

Cars parked on the street in violation of the snow ban could be towed.
