Middletown police reported they made four DUI arrests between Saturday, Sept. 14 and Tuesday, Sept. 17:
Ronald Silvia, 52, of 248 Rogers Lane was arrested Sunday, Sept. 15 around 1:30 a.m. after a witness called police to report he was driving erratically and followed him to Rogers Lane. Police said when officers arrived, the car was running but Silvia was passed out behind the wheel. At the station, he reportedly blew a BAC of .235, which is almost three times the legal limit.
Mark Bongiovanni, 24, of 41 Doyle St., Providence was arrested Sunday, Sept. 15 around 1 a.m. on charges of driving under the influence. Police said he was pulled over on East Main Road because he was swerving and speeding. He allegedly told police he was playing rugby in Newport and had some drinks at a friend’s house.
Stanley Zielasko, 60, 9595 Lewis Point Rd., Canasota, NY, was arrested Sunday around 1 a.m on charges of driving under the influence. He was also cited with refusal to submit to a chemical test and with a motor vehicle violation. Middletown police were notified by Newport police that a possibly intoxicated man just drove away from the 7-11 on Broadway in Newport. When police pulled him over, he reportedly said that he was going to drive home to New York. He lost his balance during field sobriety tests and told police he “wouldn’t be able to stand that way regularly,” according to the police report.
Stephanie Luiz, 35, of 130 Crawford St. Apt #3, Fall River, MA, was arrested Saturday, Sept. 14 around 2:30 a.m. for driving under the influence. She allegedly told police she had a few drinks in Newport. She was also cited with refusal to submit to a chemical test, speeding and a motor vehicle violation.
