PD: Man Arrested on Felony Drug Charges After Recent DUI, Impatient Hotel Guest
The following arrests were reported by the Middletown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Impatient Hotel Guest Arrested
Carol Kain, 55, of 2431 Ontario Rd., Washington DC, was arrested on Saturday around 8:05 p.m. after she allegedly made a scene in the lobby of the Residence Inn Marriott. Hotel staff told police Kain walked to the front desk, while smoking a cigarette and demanded a cab. When staff told her the cab company said they were going to be a while, Kain allegedly began to swear and threatened the staff.
Kain was charged with disorderly conduct.
Man Allegedly Speeding on West Main Road, Arrested on DUI Charge
James McCormack, of 85 Benoit St., Westport, Mass., was arrested on Sunday around 2:27 in the morning on a driving under the influence charge. Police said they pulled over his minivan because it was clocked speeding around 60 mph on West Main Road and was swerving across the road.
When he was pulled over, police reported he appeared to be intoxicated and saw beer bottles in the back seat. He failed the field sobriety tests and was arrested. In addition to the DUI charge, McCormack was cited with refusal to take a chemical test, speeding, a laned roadway violation, a turn signal violation and presence of alcoholic beverages while operating a motor vehicle.
