Photos: 29th Annual Police Parade Honors Fallen Officers

Enjoy photos from the 29th annual Aquidneck Island National Police Parade.

Residents gathered on the streets of Middletown and Newport on Sunday afternoon to show support for our country's finest at the 29th annual Aquidneck Island National Police Parade.

The parade honors police officers who were killed in the line of duty.

This year's Grand Marshal was Robert Shaw, father of slain Providence Police officer Steven Shaw, who was shot by a robber in 1994.

Also honored at the parade was Providence Police Sergeant Maxwell Dorley, who died in a police cruiser crash last month.

The crowd was entertained by the Rhode Island Highlander Pipe and Drum Band, the Newport AOH Pipe and Drum Band, the U.S. Navy Band as well as the Middletown Cheerleaders.

Enjoy photos from the event!

How about the Police Chief who was killed in a fire in NY just last week. He ran into the house to save his family.....and only his son survives. Remember "Sully" So a rememberence to all our fallen Officers, no matter what part of the USA. God Bless America
