Police Arrest Man After Accident at D’Angelo’s

The following arrests were reported by the Middletown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.


  • Matthew Cotta, 43, of 152 Grove St., Lincoln, was arrested Friday around 9:30 p.m. for driving under the influence with a BAC of .15 or greater.  A witness reported Cotta was driving erratically on Forest Avenue. Police said Cotta had vomit on his face, shirt and pants.  He allegedly said he was trying to get home to Lincoln. Cotta failed the field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. He registered a BAC of .210 and .209, said police.  He was also cited with two driving violations. 

  • Donald Sanfilipoo, 56, of 28 Bayview Park, Middletown, was arrested Thursday around 6:30 p.m. for driving under the influence after he was involved in an accident in the D’Angelo’s parking lot on West Main Road, said police. No injuries were reported. Police said he smelled of alcohol and had a difficult time maintaining his balance. He failed the field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. 

  • Matthew Goodell, 23, of 247 Chestnut Farm Way, Raynham, MA, was arrested Saturday around 1:30 a.m. for driving under the influence.  Police said he was driving 44 mph on West Main Road, which has a limit of 25 mph.  Police said he smelled of alcohol and was slurring his words.  He failed the field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. He was also cited with refusal to submit to a chemical test, speeding and a driving violation.

  • Robert Morgan, 65, homeless, was arrested Saturday around 1:50 p.m. on a felony violation of a no contact order.
