Police Find 27 Heroin Packets at Portsmouth Drug Bust

Portsmouth police arrested two people after they were allegedly caught with heroin

Police recently arrested a man and woman - Zachary Leroy, 20, of 27 Louise Drive, Tiverton, and Brittnay Davis, 21, of 561 Park Ave., Portsmouth - after they were allegedly seen with heroin on Park Avenue.

On Thursday, Portsmouth police conducted surveillance on Park Avenue after receiving information that narcotics deliveries were occurring in the area.

At approximately 1:15 pm, Leroy was seen driving on Park Avenue when he stopped to let Davis inside the vehicle. Leroy then delivered heroin to Davis, according to police.

The vehicle was then stopped. Police performed a search and found 27 packets of heroin. Six of those packets were found hidden under Davis’ clothing.

Leroy was charged with delivery of heroin. Davis was charged with possession of heroin. Both were arraigned Friday in Second Division District Court in Newport.
