The following information is based on Middletown Police Department arrest reports and does not indicate any convictions.

Marijuana Found in Hotel Room

William Munroe, 19, of 59 Moulton St., Rehoboth, MA, was arrested at approximately 4 p.m. Thanksgiving Day for possession of marijuana, according to police reports. Responding to a call from management at Hampton Inn and Suites, on West Main Rd., police were told that two people were still in a hotel room even though other members of their party had been asked to leave the day before. Officers entered the room’s open door and noticed paraphernalia related to marijuana use, such as a grinder, bong, and scale, as well as marijuana in a suitcase pocket. As the officers were speaking to a male in the room, other members of the party returned from taking bags to the parking lot. An officer walked with Munroe back to the parking lot at which time Munroe said the marijuana was his. Munroe was taken to the Middletown Police Station and processed without incident.

Susan Millard, 63, of 2953 East Main Rd., Portsmouth, was arrested at approximately 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol, according to police reports. Officers were called to the parking lot of Radio Shack, at 878 West Main Rd., and heard a witness account of an accident where a vehicle rear-ended an unattended parked vehicle, and then drove away and parked in another area of the lot. The witness pointed out the driver, who the police observed walking around the lot looking confused. Police spoke to the person and identified her as Susan Millard; they observed the smell of alcohol, glossy eyes, and slurred speech, and proceeded to conduct a field sobriety test. During the walk-and-turn, and the one-leg stand, Millard was not able to follow instructions and nearly fell over several times before the test was stopped for her safety. After being arrested in the parking lot and taken to the police station, she initially agreed to a chemical test, but compromised the observation period leading up to the test by putting her fingers in and around her mouth several times.
