Police Log: Salve Students Cited For Underage Drinking, 2 Taken to Hopsital

The following arrests were reported by the Middletown Police Department. The arrests do not imply a conviction.

Thirteen students were issued citations for underage drinking on Sunday morning around 1:45 a.m when responded to a party at 101 A Briarwood Ave.

The Middletown Fire Department took 20-year-old Brianna Ottati, who lives at the home, to after police reportedly could not wake her up. Margaret Jones, 19, was also transported to because police said she had difficulty functioning function and she allegedly recorded a .206 on a Breathalyzer exam.

Police later responded to the hospital to issue Ottati a violation of the municipal social host ordinance.    

Driving Under the Influence

Michael Potter, of 205 Immokolee Drive, Portsmouth was arrested on Friday at 10:40 p.m. on a DUI charge. The 47 year-old was also cited for refusal to submit to a chemical test. Police said they were behind Potter on West Main Road when he swerved across the yellow lines into oncoming traffic.

Police said when they activated the cruiser’s lights, Potter almost hit a street sign on the sidewalk before he came to a stop. Potter allegedly had dozens of empty Budweiser cans and boxes in the back seat of his pickup truck and an unopened can in the center console. Police said his speech was extremely slurred.

After reportedly failing the field sobriety tests, Police took Potter into custody.

Immigration Violation

Kevin Amador of 184 Cottage St, Central Falls, was arrested Saturday night around 10:15 p.m. on an active warrant for an immigration violation and driving without a license. Police reportedly pulled Amador over after they noticed he was traveling with a brake light out.

Remember girls....Alcohol can kill and I'd have to say swerving across the lines is just call for a DUI.............not a tail light and you happen to have a smell of one beer.
