Weekend Arrests: Alleged Drunk Driver Crashes into Harbor Village Apartments

The following arrests were reported by the Middletown Police Department between Friday May 18 and the early morning of Monday May 21. Arrests do not imply a convinction.

Samantha Sinclair, of 59 Cheryl Dr, Tiverton was arrested on Saturday morning at approximately 2:05 a.m. on charges of driving under the influence.  The 21 year old allegedly crashed through a fence and into the Harbor Village Apartments on West Main Road.

The passenger was transported to Newport Hospital because she reportedly had cuts on her face blood was dripping from her head. Sinclair said she was free of injury and refused treatment.

Sinclair failed the field sobriety tests and was brought into custody.

Fugitive From Justice

Tammy Hamel, of 9A Woolsey Rd. was arrested on Saturday at approximately 9:17 p.m. after police pulled her over because her license plate cover covered the registration sticker.  A routine search turned up she had a full extraditable warrant for dangerous drugs by Nassau County Police Department in New York.

Bench Warrant

Daniel Harkin of 1535 Wapping Road was arrested on Monday morning around 1:07 a.m. after police pulled him over for a broken headlight.  A routine check turned up an active bench warrant for failure to pay.
