Weekend Arrests: Two DUI Arrests, One Social Host
The following arrests were reported by the Middletown Police Department. Arrests do not imply a conviction.
Two DUI Arrests
Joe McGee, of 41 East Main Road, Portsmouth, was arrested on Sunday morning at approximately 2:09 a.m. on charges of driving under the influence. Police pulled over McGee on East Main Road after they observed him driving erratically.
Police said they smelled alcohol on his breath and when asked, he allegedly told police that that he had consumed four beers within the last few hours. After McGee reportedly had difficulty counting from 37 to 23, he said that his wife was “going to kill him”.
After he failed the field sobriety tests, police brought McGee into custody. A chemical test registered a 2.73 and a .260 blood alcohol count.
In addition to his DUI charge, police also cited him for landed roadway violations, a windshield that caused an obstructed view, operating below minimum speed and presence of alcohol in an operating motor vehicle.
Carlos Silvera, 39, of 301 Dillon Ln, Swansea, Mass., was arrested on Saturday morning at approximately 2:03 a.m. on charges of driving under the influence.
Police pulled Silvera over for speeding and swerving in and out of the travel lanes. When he was asked to step out of the car, Police said his car was not in park, so it jerked forward and stalled. Police also reported they saw a beer bottle in between the passenger door and the seat.
Silvera failed the field sobriety tests and was brought into custody without incident.

He was also cited with refusal to submit to a chemical test, speeding and presence of alcohol while operating a motor vehicle.

Kristopher Mancini, 21, of 30 Bloom Ct. was arrested on an active bench warrant and also cited with a social host ordinance for serving to minors.
On Friday night around 11:09 p.m. police responded to the area on a report that a group of individuals were throwing explosive objects into a fire. Police reported there were about 10 individual around a fire in the front yard. Police asked if everyone was 21 who was drinking beer, and individuals said they were not.
Police cited the under-age drinkers and arrested Mancini.
