Marlaina Cecilio, 31, of 306 Bank St. Apt. 4, Fall River, was arrested on Thursday around 11:30 p.m. after she allegedly tried to pull out her sister’s earring at the Shell Gas Station on West Main Road. A witness called police because both women appeared to be intoxicated and were fighting over the car keys. Later that evening, Newport police were called to a residence on Coddington Street because Cecilio was allegedly still trying to get the keys and leave. The witness from the Shell Station arrived in Newport and identified the women. Cecilio was charged with simple assault.

- Agim Jazaj, 40, 957 West Main Road, Middletown, was arrested
on Monday at 2 a.m. on charges of simple assault and resisting arrest. An officer reported Jazaj appeared like he
was avoiding his cruiser in the East Bay Village parking lot. The officer told him to stop but he allegedly
walked faster. Police said he appeared
drunk and asked why the officer was bothering him. Police told him to turn around and put his hands on his head, which he did,
said police. When the officer grabbed
his hand, Jazaj allegedly pushed the officer in the chest. He fell to the ground and continued to
struggle until the officer kneed him in his rib cage, said police.
- Nicholas Sampson, 29, of 63 Serpentine Road, Warren, was
arrested on Saturday around 1:30 a.m. on charges of driving under the
influence. He was also cited with refusal to submit to a chemical test. Police said he was driving erratically on
West Main Road and sped up from 26 mph to 50 mph. He failed the field sobriety tests and was taken into custody.
