Woman Allegedly Kicks Officer in Knee

The following arrest was reported by the Middletown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Jennifer O’Hanley, 37, of 14 Gilroy St., Newport, was arrested on Saturday by Middletown police on charges of  driving under the influence, simple assault, and resisting arrest.  She was also cited with refusal to submit to a chemical test.

Police were called to 2 Plymouth Ave. around 6:09 p.m. for a report of a domestic disturbance. She allegedly told police she came to get her husband to go to their child’s birthday party, but he refused as they were going through a divorce.  O’Hanley appeared to be intoxicated, said police.

Police asked O’Hanley to wait by her car, but she started the car and drove it up Plymouth Avenue, side-swiping her husband’s truck.  She failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest, said police.
