All Middletown Beaches Open for Swimming

The state Department of Health lifted its recommended closures for two beaches on Sunday.

in Middletown were reopened on Sunday after the state Department of Health cleared bacteria levels as within safe limits again for swimming.

Last week, four local beaches were closed after heavy rains flushed stormwater pollutants into swimming areas.

Atlantic Beach in Middletown and Easton's Beach in Newport reopened Saturday.
