The results of Middletown's wind turbine survey and a proposal to commission a wind turbine report are on the agenda for Monday's meeting.
For Monday’s meeting of the , scheduled for 7 p.m. in , agenda items range from wind turbine information and zoning ordinance changes to an application for state funding of $1 million in repair work at . The meeting is open to the public.
Here, a few of the agenda items:
- Wind turbine survey results: More than 549 local residents completed the survey on the town’s website in December. A detailed memorandum from Town Administrator Shawn Brown presents the results, summarized in the memo as: “Support for wind turbine development measured in the plus-or-minus-50% range."
- Wind turbine report: A proposal from Town Council President Art Weber and Town Council Vice President Bruce Long presents details on what type of wind turbine information is needed in a report specific to Middletown.
- Zoning ordinance changes: The Planning Board is suggesting changes to the ordinances regarding temporary signs, such as special event or seasonal signs.
- School repairs: An application to the Rhode Island Department of Education from the Middletown Public School District is requesting funding for $1,156,162 in repair work on fire doors, roofs, paving, and asbestos abatement
- New police car: Police Department proposal to purchase an additional white Ford Crown Victoria patrol car for $47,879.20
