Rain and T-Storms Likely; Middletown Keeps Cooling Centers Open

Middletown Library, town hall, and the senior center are the designated cooling centers for folks who need to escape the heat and humidity.

With continued warm temperatures and high humidity levels in Wednesday's forecast, the town of Middletown announced that its designated cooling centers at the Public Library, Senior Center, and Town Hall will remain open Wednesday.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected Wednesday afternoon, with highs around 80 and winds up to 10 mph during the day, according to the National Weather Service.

Heavy rain is possible Wednesday night into Thursday morning, with patchy fog expected before 10 a.m. Thursday. Rainfall amounts could reach an inch between Wednesday and Thursday night.

The NWS is forecasting continued clouds with the potential for rain and thunderstorms through at least Friday.
