RIDOT to Discuss Traffic Improvement and Roundabout Plans Tonight

Representatives will review plans for traffic improvement plans with Middletown Town Council Monday night.

Rhode Island Department of Transportation representatives will present plans for traffic improvement projects at 6 p.m. on Monday at Middletown Town Hall.

The following projects will be discussed:

ADA Sidewalk Improvements on Green Lane

Kate Wilson with RIDOT Members of the Rhode Island Department of Transportation said they are nearing the completion of the design and engineering necessary to construct sidewalk improvements to Green Lane. Wilson will present a project overview and answer questions.

Left Hand Turn Lane from West Main Road to Forest Avenue

Sean Raymond from RIDOT will present an overview on the project which is nearing the completion of the planning phase.  Plans are not yet available.  

Intersections at Aquidneck Avenue 

  • RIDOT plans to  construct a roundabout at Aquidneck Avenue and Valley Road. Plans are available at the clerk’s office.

  • At the intersection of Aquidneck Avenue and Purgatory Road, RIDOT has plans to realign the intersection, remove the slip lane and improve pedestrian safety.  Plans are available at the clerk’s office.

  • RIDOT said plans to improve the intersection of Aquidneck Avenue and Green End Avenue are nearly completed.  Plans are not yet available.
