Severe T-Storm Warning Issued for Middletown

Officials are predicting a potential for severe weather today and tomorrow.

The National Weather Service has issued an advisory warning that unstable conditions could cause severe thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow night, particularly Thursday afternoon and evening.

Any thunderstorm activity will be "widely scattered" but could become severe very quickly with damaging winds, large hail and heavy rainfall.

Officials are unsure what the trigger for these storms will be, but believe an approaching cold front tomorrow afternoon could spell trouble for the Ocean State.

Though it's too soon to predict Thursday's activity, officials say it does seem likely that were will be "at least a few severe thunderstorms" due to an unstable air mass above the state, the impending cold front and strong winds.
