Severe Weather Alert: Thunder, Lightning and Possible Hail On the Way
The National Weather Service issued an severe weather alert around noon on Saturday.
The National Weather Service at noon on Saturday issued a severe weather alert for Newport, Bristol and Kent counties in Rhode Island, as well as areas in southeastern Massachusetts.
An unexpected line of thunder storms with sudden wind gusts of up to 40 mph was expected to hit communities in those counties beginning around noon on Saturday.
The series of storms also might bring lightning and small hail, the National Weather Service warned.
